Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow : A Briefer History of Time

I’d bought this book rather than the original A Brief History of Time because I’d read that most people had found that one too complicated, but maybe I should have gone for the original after all. This one was very brief indeed. It was certainly easy to follow, but sometimes left me with so many questions that I found myself wishing it was longer and more complicated. I’d say that the ideas presented here are essential knowledge with which everyone with any interest in science, or indeed in life in general, certainly ought to be familiar, and this would be an excellent introduction for anyone encountering them for the first time. Unfortunately I didn’t really come across very much that I didn’t already know from other sources, although the book did make a few things slightly clearer. I’d perhaps also been hoping for more philosophy, whereas this book was almost 100% physics. So, well worth reading, but I’d expected more.
